Sheikh Zakaullah is the Head Imam and Head of Education at the Masjid. After completing his Islamic Education, he worked in numerous roles before becoming the Imam of Green Lane Masjid in the UK. He memorised the Qur’an at the age of 8, and has led the taraweeh prayers on numerous occasions. He has recently completed his Masters in Islamic Education from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education

Ustadh Omar Dridj started his journey of seeking the sacred sciences of Islam at the age of 20. He travelled to Mauritania - the land of the Huffadh - where he completed the memorisation of the Holy Quran in only 4 months. He then came to the UK and became an experienced Hifdh teacher since 2020. He is currently studying the different Qiraat at Ibn Al Jazari Institute, where he completed an Ijazah in 3 Riyawahs of the Quran.

Ustadh Omar studied in Makkah for three years, at Institute of Masjid Al-Haram then Dar-Ul-Hadeeth. He also studied for two years at the College of Azhar for 2 years, and has gained various Ijaaza In Quranic recitation. He has been involved in teaching Arabic and Quran for over 10 years, and is currently completing a Masters degree in Islamic Education at the University of Warwick.

Ustadha Abeir is originally from Syria, and has two Ijazas in the Quran (2001, 2011), both with a chain of transmission connecting to the Prophet Muhammad (saw). She has been teaching Quran and Tajweed for children and Adults for many years, and at various institutions. Ustadha Abeir is consistently expanding her knowledge, and studies courses in tajweed, Quran, Hadith, Uloom ul Quran, Fiqh, Tafsir, and Islamic History. Her hobbies include baking and decorating.

Ustadha Saira has completed a 5-year course at Green Lane Masjid, ending with Al jazariyyah, and is a certified Tajweed Teacher. She has been teaching tajweed since 2020.

Sister Safeena started studying Tajweed at Green Lane Masjid in Sept 2012. By September 2015, she was teaching her own Tajweed classes on the weekend in the masjid. In 2019, she completed her Ijaza in the Jazariyah programme under Ustadha Abeir at Green Lane Masjid.

Sister Hamida is originally from Germany, and has been a Quran teacher for the last 9 years. She has experience in teaching different levels of tajweed to adults and children, both onsite and online, as well as teaching 1:1 lessons as part of Adult’s and Children’s Hifdh programmes. She started as a student in Greenlane in 2011 and successfully completed Riwayatul Hafs an Asim with Ijaza, as well as Arabic to advanced level
